Bible reading is one of the most important christian habits. Every christian should make this discipline a priority in his or her life.
There are two different ways people read the bible and both are important. One way is to read with the goal of making it through the whole text from beginning to end to get a feel for the complete story. People who are doing this usually use a reading plan. The other is to read for the purpose of drawing closer to God. These people are are more focused on meditating on a shorter text.
Obviously, the two methods are not mutually exclusive and it is good to use both methods.
