Develop the Whole Person

Over the last few weeks I have discussed the first three values of the Worship Arts Conservatory, which are:

  1. Worship is the Priority
  2. Unity
  3. World Class Education

The third value is Develop the Whole Person.  It is our desire to do more than just impart knowledge, therefore the Worship Arts Conservatory will focus on these three aspect of personal growth:

  • Character.  We believe it is more important to God that we live with integrity and love than that we are masters of a particular subject area.
  • Concepts.  We believe that knowledge is essential to mastery.
  • Competence.  We believe that experience and practice are necessary to fully understanding a topic.

Character focuses on our hearts.  It is our desire to train students to love God and live a life of worship.

Concepts focus on our intellect and understanding.  It is our desire to train students to have a solid understanding of their field of study.

Competence focuses both on our ability to apply that knowledge in real world situations and mastery of the physical skills necessary for application of that knowledge.  It is our desire to train students who have the experience and skill to serve in their chosen field of study.

What other factors do you think are important to developing the whole person?  Please leave a comment.
