Episode 19 - Open the Gates to God's Presence

Psalm 100:4 tells us to “Enter His gates with thanksgiving”. In my last two videos I have encouraged you to make it a habit to praise and thank God because it is a form of worship that is both an Old Testament offering and a New Testament sacrifice.
Earlier we talked about how praise is natural and increases our joy in something we love. Today I want you to notice that thanksgiving opens up the gates to God's presence: “enter His gates with thanksgiving.”
When I start thanking God for all the blessings He has giving to me, it opens up my mind and spirit to His presence in my life. It opens a gate, so to speak, of recognition. As I thank God I am reminded that God is working in my life and that He is good and that He is with me right now. My spiritual eyes that were clouded by my earthly troubles and concerns grow clear and focus on God.
Do you want to recognize the presence of God? Then begin with thanksgiving. I believe every day and every prayer should begin with thanksgiving. I need to constantly remind myself that God is with me and He is doing good in my life.
