Episode 16 - Worship Increases Our Joy
In Episode 16 of Worship Moments, Dr Wyrick talks about how praising God actually increases our joy.

In my last video we learned from C.S. Lewis, in his book “Reflections on the Psalms”, that praise is the natural response to something we enjoy. He goes on to say,
“I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation. It is not out of compliment that lovers keep on telling one another how beautiful they are; the delight is incomplete till it is expressed.” A few lines later he says, “Fully to enjoy is to glorify. In commanding us to glorify Him, God is inviting us to enjoy Him.”
In other words, your joy in something you love is not complete until you tell someone else – until you praise the object you love. When we gather together to praise God we find that our joy increases. Isn't that true? I know it is for me.
God doesn't command us to worship Him because He needs our worship. He commands us to worship Him because it increases our joy! Do you need a little more joy in your life? And who doesn't? Then stop right now and praise God!
