We continue to see good things happening with the Worship Arts Conservatory. Here are some upcoming events and news that may interest you.
Concerts
The Instrumental Ensemble has two upcoming concerts in May:
- May 7, 6 pm at Warren Community Church, 28100 Ryan Rd, Warren
- May 21, 6 pm at Bethany Baptist Church, 19700 15 Mile Rd, Clinton Charter Twp
The music will be a mixture of classical favorites, traditional hymns and contemporary worship. I would love to have you join us for one of these concerts.
College Partnerships
Last month I told you about our new partnership with Visible Music College. This month we added two new college partners: Virginia Baptist College and The Crown College of the Bible. We also have a few more colleges that we hope will partner with us soon.
As I mentioned last month, what this does for us and our students is it gives us a degree path. As an unaccredited college we cannot offer degrees, but now, through our college partnerships, someone can spend up to two years studying music, worship or ministry with WAC and then transfer those credits to one of our partner colleges and all of those credits will go directly toward completing their degree. Essentially we function like a Christian community college for Detroit.
The biggest advantage for the student is that they can save thousands of dollars each year they study with us.
High School Partnerships
We are currently in the process of contacting Christian High Schools to develop partnerships with them. We want to get the message out that there is now a college in Detroit that offers a degree path for worship, music and ministry. If you can help us build these partnerships, please let me know.
Online Advertising
We just began an online advertising campaign through a local advertising agency. We have previously advertised on radio and social media, but we have never done regular online advertising. We are hoping that this will allow us to more effectively target a younger audience to let them know about our new degree paths.
Prayer Requests
- Classes – Pray that our current classes will finish well.
- Summer Term – Pray that we will have a good summer registration.
- Student Recruitment – Pray that we are able to attract students to our new Music degree path and that our new online advertising will be effective.
- Articulation Agreements – Pray that we are able to continue to develop partnerships with other colleges.
- Finances – Please continue to pray for our finances. God is blessing in so many ways but we are still low in monthly support.
