WAC Update 5

checkmark

Last week we completed our Indiegogo fundraiser.  Thank you for your prayers and contributions.  The funds we received allowed us to take a big step forward in our journey of starting a new college in Detroit.  Here is what we have done over the last week:

  • Paid Floyd Green Financial Services to complete and file our 1023 form.  Once accepted by the IRS we will be a tax exempt organization and all donations will be tax deductible.  This tax deduction will be retroactive to the date of our filing of our articles of incorporation, 12/12/12.  Floyd Green Financial Services has filed this form for over 3000 organizations and claim a 100% approval rate.  In addition to the tax benefits we gain from tax exempt status, IRS approval will also make it much easier to solicit large donations, especially from foundations.
  • Started to finalize our program offerings.  Before we can become licensed by the state we need to determine exactly what programs we will offer.  The academic offerings listed on our website are being carefully studied to make sure they meet all accreditation requirements and are most effective program of study we can develop.
  • Began communications with the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs concerning details in the licensing application.

As you can see, your contributions have been put to good work and the Worship Arts Conservatory is moving forward in its goal to be a fully accredited, licensed college offering quality worship studies in Detroit.  Thank you for your help in making this possible!
