Now is the Time

If you've been thinking about developing your music skills or even taking your first step in music, this summer is a great time to start. Most of us have a little more time in the summer. Use this time to grow your musical talents.

Growth

Here are the four music courses Worship Arts Conservatory is planning on offering this Summer. Which one sounds interesting to you?

Beginning Guitar
Introduction to rhythm guitar playing. Including tuning, strumming, reading chord symbols, using a capo, and the most common chord progressions in G, D and A. This class is designed for the beginning guitarist and is recommended for novices as a preparation for Guitar Class.
Voice Class

Study basic vocal techniques, including breathing, tone production, note reading, and fundamental vocabulary for singers. Learn healthy vocal habits.

Music Theory I and Ear Training I

Study of simple four part harmony. Learn figured bass, chord symbols, cadences, non-harmonic tones, voice-leading, dominant seventh chords and harmonic progression. To be taken concurrently with Ear Training I.

Learn to sing and dictate all intervals and scales. Identify major and minor triads. Develop rhythm awareness.

Instrumental Ensemble

Learn wind ensemble literature. Represent Worship Arts Conservatory by performing at various venues. Audition may be required.

All course offerings are tentative. Final courses are dependent upon sufficient enrollment and available faculty.
