Strategic Priority: Enrollment

Walkthrough

Have you ever used a walkthrough to help you finish a computer or video game?  A good walkthrough will tell you the best way to win the game or win a certain level of the game. Our strategic plan functions like a walkthrough for us. It tells us what we need to do to reach our goal. If we work our plan we believe we should reach our goal.

This is my fourth post talking about our strategic plan for 2018-2019.

So far I have posted on the Overall Plan, Priority 1: Internships, Priority of Finances and the Priority of Volunteers.

Our Strategic Plan has five key priorities:

  • Internships
  • Finances
  • Volunteers
  • Enrollment
  • Location

Today I will focus on the Priority of Enrollment.

What is an FTE?

Our fall enrollment goal is 6-10 FTE. FTE represents Full Time Equivalent. FTE is a very common way to look at enrollment numbers because it focuses more on the amount of credits taken than the number of students. One Full Time Equivalent is equal to 12 credits per term. So it is very easy to come up with a FTE for any term - simply divide the number of credits taken by 12. Our FTE for last term was 3.4

Enrollment and Internships

Our strategic priority of Enrollment ties in closely with Internships. This is true because an intern commits to taking at least two courses per term and is therefore at a minimum 1/2 FTE. If an intern is able to go full time than he or she would be one FTE.

In other words, finding interns is the quickest way to reaching our enrollment goal.

How Can I Help

Here are three ways you can help us reach our enrollment goals:

  • Pray - Don't forget that we have a prayer team. Let me know if you would like to join it.
  • Volunteer - Our Volunteer Page lists multiple ways you can help us with enrollment.
  • Spread the News - Let people know about WAC. Share our posts. Like our Facebook page. Make sure your pastors know about it.
