Rick Helderop

Meet Rick Helderop – Organist for February 28 Concert

Rick has been in the church all his life and directing choirs since he was thirteen. Rick is driven to know God through worship and to lead others in a better understanding of worship through the heart of God. Rick’s degrees include an undergraduate degree in Music Education, an equivalent degree in Organ Performance and his Master Degree in Organ Performance from the University of Michigan studying under the internationally
acclaimed Robert Glasgow. Rick has also pursued additional doctoral coursework.

Rick’s ministry not only led him to direct choirs but to also to use his talent as a church and concert organist in the United States, Canada, and Russia.

Rick is also an accomplished organ builder, restoring and rebuilding instruments to work with his client’s venues. Rick had the unique opportunity to install the first American pipe organ in a church in Russia and is currently preparing to install the second. He has lead worship in churches of fifty to over five thousand people. Rick is married to his wife, Sue, of thirty-four years and a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Chelsea.
