Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart! Psalm 32:11
As children of God and people saved in Christ we have much to celebrate. Our worship and our art should reflect this joy.
We can celebrate God’s amazing creation. We can rejoice in our undeserved salvation. We can marvel at God’s miraculous works and His incomprehensible perfection. We can take joy in Jesus’ love for us as displayed on the cross. We can exult in our love for each other in the church. We can delight in God’s presence with us at all time in all circumstance.
Yes, we have so much to celebrate. I realize that our celebration needs to be balance with meditation and truth. I also realize that there are some – I believe the minority – that may celebrate too much and purposely avoid the harder truths or less enjoyable realities of life. But as a whole, I think, we could all use a little more celebration.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Philippians 4:4
Its time to celebrate!
