BIBLE

Intertestamental Period

A study of the not so silent years between the Old and New Testaments.

A course studying the history, literature, theology and archaeology of the Intertestamental Period (400 B.C.– 4/5 B.C.). Key issues including the origin of the synagogue system, the rise of the Sanhedrin, the roots of the Pharisees, Sadducees, Zealots, Essenes, the perspective of rabbinical hermeneutics and the historical collage of military powers impacting that time period in the province of Yehud will be examined. Both biblical and extra-biblical sources will explored.

Introduction to Worship Technology

An introduction to the technology necessary for an effective worship service including sound, lighting and video. Both analog and digital technology will be explored. Become familiar with the equipment used in worship.

Elements of Music

Understand the fundamentals of music. Learn how to read, sing, hear and write scales, intervals and chords.

Voice Class

Study basic vocal techniques for singers. Learn how to develop your voice, maintain your vocal health, hear pitches and sing with confidence.

Guitar Class

Learn basic acoustic guitar techniques, including tuning, strumming, picking, reading chord symbols, using a capo, and the most common chord progressions. Be introduced to advanced techniques such as reading music, TAB, barre chords, how to ad lib, scales and much more.

Instrumental Ensemble

Play in an instrumental ensemble based upon available players. All instruments welcome.

Time and Location: 3-4 rehearsals and a concert. Time and location will be set after students sign up based upon location and schedules of students.
