Program Goals
Upon graduation, the student will
- Have a general knowledge of the Bible and its doctrines.
- Understand how to develop a growing relationship with God, in Christ, through the Spirit.
- Understand the principles of good communication.
- Have the skills to act in or direct a simple dramatic production.
Core Bible and Theology - 12 credit hours
Communication – 19 credit hours
3 credit hours
Study the basic concepts, models and theories concerning the role of communication in human behavior. Connect theory to practice in a variety of contexts: interpersonal, group and organizational communication.
3 credit hours
Study the history and application of storytelling. Practical instruction in the art of storytelling as it relates to numerous fields. Learn how to become more imaginative and confident storytellers and communicators in a wide variety of settings.
3 credit hours
Study modern acting techniques to gain greater control over your body and voice. Learn to clearly communicate character to the audience. Prerequisite: COM-101.
2 credit hours
Apply communication in a real-world setting. Build practical skill and gain experience through work in a professional setting. Church or para-church ministry settings will be given priority.
Theater – 8 credit hours

An introduction to the dramatic arts by examining the history, terminology and basic techniques of the theater.
3 credit hours
An introduction to the art and practice of acting in performance. Learn the primary acting skills and techniques of dramatic performance. Prerequisite: COM-101.
3 credit hours
Study the basic theories and techniques of stage directing. Develop a basic understanding of the directing process. Prerequisite: COM-101.
