Worship Moments, Episode 45 – Joining with the Saints in Worship

You never worship alone! So far we have talked about joining in with the world-wide family of believers and with angels as we worship. Let's continue our reading from the last video in Hebrews 12. This time I am going to read verse 23.

When we worship we come “to the assembly of the firstborn whose names have been written in heaven, to God who is the Judge of all, to the spirits of righteous people made perfect,”

Did you see that? Not only are we joining with other believers on earth and angels in heaven, but we are joining with the “spirits of righteous people made perfect” to all “whose names have been written in heaven”. In other words, we are joining with all the saints who have gone before us to heaven and are now enjoying the presence of God.

Wow! You never worship alone! Every time you worship you join an endless stream of praise! Of earth bound believers, of heavenly saints and of angels in a joyful assembly.

If you are a worship leader standing before a tiny congregation, or a lonely person praying in an empty room – remember you are not alone in your worship.

If you have memories, as I do, of worshiping with someone who is now in heaven. That person may be joining with you in worship. Wow, that excites me. I think I am going to spend a few minutes joining in with the heavenly party. How about you?
